Nice Weekend for Show 'n' Shine in Osoyoos...

I may not be branded as an enthusiast when it comes to old cars, but I certainly appreciate the classic lines and glossy paint jobs on antique cars, so this weekend I intend to be one of the observers of the Cactus Jalopies Show 'n' Shine at the Gyro Park in Osoyoos.

The event is one sponsored as part of the Desert Wine Tour for 2013 that allows the public a chance to view cars of all ages, makes and models including restored relics and revived classics. Since the owners just love to show off their beauties there is no charge for the Saturday viewing that starts at 10 am and goes until 5 pm.

As an added feature there is a motorcycle stunt show which amazed me last year by the extreme antics these riders perform. I found myself holding my breath with each jump or flip the cycles made. Great entertainment for the family if you are not nervous when watching young people doing hand stands on the seat of a bike that is soaring higher than the heads in the crowd.

The weather promises to be sunny and hot all weekend, so plan to attend the Cactus Jalopy Show 'n' Shine at the Osoyoos Gyro Beach in downtown Osoyoos. There have been some nice upgrades to Gyro Beach recently so why not bring a beach blanket and sunscreen and make a day of it?
