Here's a thread for your accommodation recommendations in the Enderby area! We welcome your suggestions and experiences....

Siv' & I finally got away this week for our anniversary and spent an evening in Enderby at the
Country Cottages

Our Hosts, Don & Marjorie, are a wonderful couple that make you feel very welcome! They have 2 cottages on premises - one a Victorian inspired cottage and the other Alpine. After turning off of Mabel Lake Road into the driveway, you are greeted by a forest grove and nestled in amongst the trees, the cottages appear. Their property has trails to explore, pastures inviting local wildlife and a private beach across the street, alongside the Shuswap River.

We stayed in the Alpine and were impressed with the warm atmosphere , cleanliness of the cottage and the amenities offered. We brought along a few items thinking that they certainly wouldn't be provided... but were pleasantly surprised to see they were, along with other things that we had forgotten to include in our supplies! There is a jetted bathtub.... perfect for a relaxing soak while looking out the windows to the surrounding forest. An upper loft provides another sleeping area and the cottage TV (note no local stations - some DVD's/VHS Tapes available, but bring your own if you like).

Don lovingly created both cottages - he graciously allowed us to view the Victorian cottage and we appreciated the extra touches he incorporated in his design. The cottage has antique furniture and memorabilia .... very welcoming.

Be sure to check out their website for location and contact information (Mabel Lake is approximately 20 KM down the road):

PS) Marjorie is a talented artist.... you'll find a note welcoming you to sit with her while she sketches your portrait!

The cottages are now closed. Such a shame! :sad
