Moving to Okanagan from Toronto

Post by rob001 » Thu Jan 26, 2017 7:58 pm

Hello! My wife and I are from Toronto. I am a freelance photographer and my wife is a medical officer. For her job requirements we are moving to Okanagan for 2 years. To be honest I have very little idea about this place, but is looking forward to experience whatever it offers. This relocation is for a short term & we are looking to rent a house. I would like to know which region is the most affordable, but accessible place in Okanagan? I would like to get any sort of advice from people who are living there for long time.

The rents here aren't as high as Vancouver or Toronto but still pricey especially in Kelowna. I don't know for sure but I think a 2 bedroom house without a basement would be at least $1,800 on the low side anywhere in the Okanagan. In the south maybe Okanagan Falls or Oliver could be less but hard to even find anything to rent. In the north maybe Enderby or Armstrong.
