Aren't webcams useful!

I had to share this. We are having a house built in Kettle Valley, we keep asking for photos, but knowone ever seems to be able to send them.

Today I found the 'Amberhill' webcam, it's one that you can move and zoom in etc. As luck would have it, it can be aimed straight up the hill at our foundations. Now I can keep snooping on the builders whenever I like.
Isn't technology grand?

Hi
On the top road above Amberhill, there are two large houses then a gap, then one large house on the far right hand side.
Ours is the one that only has concrete fondations between these houses. Looks like a lovely day over there today!

Just out of interest does it work out much cheaper to have your own house built. Hope you dont mind me asking.

Is it just like buying a new house on an estate in the UK?

I am a little :confused as you seem to buy a plot then they build a house for you!
Do you then choose the builder?

Is this right?

Hi
We bought our plot last July whilst we were out on a Recce. In Kettle Valley you have to use a 'recommended' builder. We met a couple, but we decided on Rykon having seen their show house in Wilden and having met their sales director. Then you have to choose your house design, this is like choosing something from a catologue. Then we tweaked the design. Finally now it is being built. We must be one of the lucky ones in the UK, because we sold our house in the first week we marketed it and we move out next week, although we don't plan to go to Kelowna until November, ish.
