Physiotherapy work in Kelowna

Post by JennyC » Sun Aug 03, 2014 5:26 am

Hi there,
My husband, 5 year old son and I are planning on emigrating to Kelowna from the UK once I have finished my Physiotherapy degree (May 2015) and gone through the credentialling process. does anybody know what the job situation is like for Physiotherapists in the area? I also have. BSc in Sport and Exercise Science and am a qualified Sports Massage Therapist and Pilates instructor.
I am getting really excited as I get closer to the end of my degree and closer to the big move :thumbup
thanks for any help, very gratefully received :grin
Jenny

Hi Jenny and welcome to the forums! :hi

With the credentials you mention, I would 'personally' think that there would be openings in Kelowna and other parts of the Okanagan Valley.

This will give you an idea of companies out there, which in this particular link, are massage therapy related.

For Physiotherapists:

You could check out the careers section of the Interior Health website.

Upon doing a search for Physiotherapist, these current listings came up in Kelowna:

Biomedical Engineering Technologist – Kelowna General Hospital (Full Time)
Occupational Therapist – Kelowna Health Centre (Full Time)
Occupational Therapist – Kelowna Health Centre (Full Time)
Orthotist – Kelowna General Hospital (Relief Part Time)
Occupational Therapist – Kelowna Health Centre (Relief Part Time)

Hope this is some small help?
Kind Regards.

Thanks very much, very helpful :-) We are just looking at the moment and deciding whether to come after doing the alliance exams or getting a supervisory role and coming out before sitting the alliance exams!
