I've driven through it. It didn't take long!
There were some fantastic fruit stalls along the road as we went through. We also passed through some stunning scenery in that area.

Welcome to the forum arrandc
I have never really spent any time in Keremeos but went there to do a job about 4 weeks ago and from my short visit i would say it is quite a way out from things in general and was very small. It may suit you if you are after the quiet life and don't enjoy larger towns and shops and all that stuff but you need to consider the commute from Penticton to Keremeos in all weathers on a daily basis.
We have 2 teenage boys so it would have been a definite no no for us but to be honest even if we didn't have them we would have wanted to be closer to everything that a city like Kelowna has to offer so maybe we would have looked at Peachland or Summerland in that case.

many thanks for the info....we are not too bothered about being close to city shops etc... but take your point on the kids...we have 2 aged 5 and 10 so that will be a factor in the future....the area looks really nice and houses are cheaper but the distances are the issue...we can have a look on our trip in may
regards

Hi, Def check out Peachland & Summerland.
We have a 3yr old and are very interested in Peachland or Vernon. Nice & quiet and if one wants to go into town then you have the option to do this. Peachland has approximately 5000 residents when Kelowna has 110,000 and growing!!!!
But once you arrive in May you can have a good look around and get a better feel of each area.
Good Luck!

Peachland is definitely a favourite place of ours but the house prices are not really any cheaper than Kelowna but it does allow you to travel into Kelowna fairly easily if the need arises.
Vernon on the other hand is definitley a better bet for lower house prices but that's only ok if you like Vernon. Personally we just didn't get Vernon and decided fairly early on that we didn't want to live there but of course thousands do and like it!

Keremeos is situated in the Similkameen region... just outside of the Okanagan Valley. Someone I worked with moved to the area & quite enjoys living there. I don't think the commute would be more than a 1/2 hour to Penticton, but I could be wrong... may just have to check that out soon!!
