After reading the write-up in TRAINS magazine, I just had to book a trip. Kamloops to Jasper was my choice. Not very convenient departure and arrival times for us Okanagan dwellers, but ....
The first part is between Kamloops and Clearwater.

Before I forget, departure time at Kamloops is 06:35 (Wed), arrival is at 23:09 (Fri) — provided the train is on time. The return trip was more than two hours late, but apparently they were around four hours late leaving Edmonton.

Filming from the train is certainly different - dome car or no dome car - from chasing the train on the road.

Hey, H-J, you know what we love about your movies? NO giddy-up accompanying music, NO brainless commentary, just trains and our beautiful Canada.
Thanks.
