Property Taxes set to increase
Lake Country city council is now considering a draft budget of a 17.05% property tax hike for residents. The communities have now surpassed 15,000 residents and as a result, Lake Country will be required to cover a majority of its policing costs, as well as other costs previously supported regionally. In past, 70% of police wages were paid, however, costs will now increase to 90%. With growth comes more $$$ needed!

Re: Property Taxes set to increase
2024 will bring another sizeable 9.52% increase amounting to about $1.9 million in additional taxation over last year. This increase works out to an additional $248 in municipal tax for the owner of an average single-family home valued at $1.086 million.
In order to provide 24/7 policing, Lake Country Mayor, Blair Ireland, says the district needs to get to 24 officers. With this year's budget they will be at 20 with two more expected to be added in each of the next two years.
