hi tracie107
have to disagree with you on the 'two chefs' not being good! i regularly go there and i find it really good. however, the fish n chips they offer on fridays as their special at $9.95 is not as good as ordering the cod n chips at $12.95 well worth paying that bit more for the 'real' thing. chips could be a little thicker on the cut but.... the cod is beautifully battered and very large, yummy.
tom the owner (english) is friendly with debbie (canadian) in the kitchen. they regularly hold special nights ie this saturday is lobster n steak night with celtic singers, which is a ticket only night and has been sold out for over a month!!! i find the atmosphere querky with lots of english tat that looks like it was bought from many a trip to car boot sundays lol but i think that all adds to the charm of the place.

It was probably unfair of me to say that considering that I have not been there myself to sample the menu, however when you hear a few people say that it wasn't great then I am somewhat weary of spending my money and eating there.
So perhaps I should and try it out first

hi tracie
i've done exactly the same as you in the past and dismissed a place by hearing bad reports. i'd also heard negative things about the 2 chefs, but because its english i just had to check it out and i'm soooo glad i did. i've just got in from the lobster n steak night and we (table of 10) had a brilliant time. the singer was a newfie and was so funny with his songs and jokes.
if you get homesick in the coming months it's just what the doctor ordered cod n chips n mushy peas lol
