Does anyone know? And also how common are power cuts (long ones) around here?

Long outages are rare. I haven't checked into it since but the report on the radio earlier today was that there was a fire on a key pole in a remote location. They had to access it by helicopter. I don't know what caused the fire: whether lightning strike or perhaps a transformer overheating.

Just don't go out in the winter with it still wet, so i'm told.
Doesn't apply to me as there's not much to dry.

Apparently so, but then again it could be a nasty rumour but i don't want to test it out.
