Temporary Worker - Times

We are coming over on a Temporary Worker Visa and have a query.

My partner's prospective employer is filing his forms with HRSDC either today or Monday - any idea how long it takes for the employer to receive confirmation so that we can then submit our forms at this end?

Not sure if this makes any difference but the employer has pre-approval to employ immigrants.

Many thanks

I came over via PNP and had TWP, so not sure exactly, but no longer than a few weeks I wouldn't have thought. Then it should only take 10 days to get your temporary work permit if you don't have to have a medical for it.

Thank you. We had the job offer three weeks ago with a start date of begining of June agreed with the potential employer - we are attempting to sort things out at this end but are worrying about selling too much just in case it turns out we aren't allowed to go or something goes wrong! I suppose its just one of the million things that you worry about when moving abroad!

:)

We have heard from prospective employer today who has said approx. 33 days for HRSDC to confirm offer and then 2ish weeks for us to get our visa - so hopefully (fingers, toes, etc etc crossed) all sorted by 7th May. :eek

That is fantastic news, Crowphonic!!

It must be the way of immigration to feel in limbo while you WAIT. Sounds like the next while will be a hive of activity for your family!!

Cheers :cheers
