We like Summerland and the property prices are pretty good too. The thing that made us decide against it was that we'd both probably end up working in Kelowna and the thought of the drive and the bridge - we left the UK to get away from the commuter drive. Where we live, I can be in work in under 10 minutes!!
The area is lovely and so are the people

Yeah, exactly Colsgirl! ... the whole idea of the Okanagan Life is relaxation! ... I wouldn't want to put up with the bridge every day myself for commuting, but I guess people who have to to it & have done for a while are used to it.
Will the new bridge be any better?

There will be at least two lanes open each direction all of the time (barring accidents, but that can happen anywhere). The hold-up currently is the narrowing to one lane to cross.

I think the new bridge will be better for awhile ( a few years anyway) but if the population continues to grow at recent rates then I still wouldn't want the commute. A second crossing would have been much better.
